Description

Enjoy this smoothie as a post-workout snack, delightful dessert, or main feature of your breakfast. It’s my personal favorite energy drink—and a simple way to get fruits and vegetables … and plant-based protein (thanks to hemp seeds!). Cheers!


Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons raw shelled hemp seeds
  • 1 cup frozen mango cubes
  • 1 cup chopped unpeeled English cucumber
  • 1/2 cup cold filtered water, or as needed*
  • 1/2 cup packed fresh organic baby spinach
  • 2 tablespoons packed fresh mint leaves
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger root


Instructions

  1. Add the hemp seeds to a blender. Cover and blend until powdery.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and blend until well puréed.
  3. Pour into a tall glass and sip.

Notes

*Want a sweeter smoothie? Use pure organic apple juice (not from concentrate) instead of water. Or add one packet of organic stevia or monk fruit sweetener.
