avocado anything dip

If you guys don’t already have a “special sauce” recipe of your own, please go ahead and adopt my avocado anything dip — also known as “plant-based avocado special sauce” — as your own. You can serve it on practically anything (hello veggie burger spread) or dunk almost anything into it (yep, it’s a perfect Super Bowl party dip)! This is definitely my pick when I’ve got avocados on hand that are a bit overly mushy, too. It transforms them into something rather magical.

food scrap hummus garden

My new snacking philosophy is that hummus is always a good idea, especially if it’s a food scrap hummus garden! It’s a quirky, yet delightful way to use up produce parts and leftovers from your fridge. I’m pretty sure I eat more hummus than anyone I know. It’s what I grab whenever I need a quick fix or if I need to get in a bit more plant protein. And while I adore traditional hummus, I do like to mix things up every once in a while. I happened to be out of chickpeas, but I had dried red lentils on hand. Though I do punch up the lemon to brighten the flavor.

You can’t “beet” this! While I adore hummus (and so many other classic dips), I whip up this easy roasted beet dip when I want a change of taste — or a pop of vibrant color — or both. I love that all it takes is three plant-based ingredients—beets, tahini, and lemon juice — plus sea salt. It’s got the perfect touch of savoriness and hint of natural sweetness, too. Plus, it’s party friendly and beyond gorgeous to look at!

pistachio-accented hummus with pickled pistachios

I seriously don’t think I could live without hummus. Being half Lebanese could be one reason for that! The other is that I simply love it. It’s definitely one of my top go-to foods when I need a fast fix. How about you? While I adore the classic version, I also enjoy mixing things up with a non-traditional version every once in a while.
