| Jackie Newgent, an award-winning cookbook author, is a well-respected registered dietitian and chef and an expert in both culinary and nutrition topics. Her first cookbook, The All-Natural Diabetes Cookbook: The whole food approach to great taste and healthy eating (American Diabetes Association, 2007) was released in September. And it’s a winner—given a “starred review” by both Publishers Weekly and Library Journal; named “Editor’s Pick” by Natural Health magazine; and awarded the Best Health and Nutrition Book/U.S.A. by Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2007. |

| Her work is seen by millions monthly in every issue of Glamour and Weight Watchers Magazine (WWM). She writes the “Calorie Math” column for Glamour and all the menus for WWM. More tastes of her recipe development and writing talents are routinely seen in various national publications, including Woman’s World, Woman’s Day and Prevention. Plus, Newgent is a Fitness expert contributing advisory board member. |

Plus, as a spokesperson for the food industry, she’s commonly spotted throughout the country via satellite media tours. | Newgent is regularly invited to speak at professional meetings, including the International Association of Culinary Professional’s (IACP) Annual International Conference, American Dietetic Association’s (ADA) Food & Nutrition Conference and Expo, and Chocolate Symposium. She’s a past national media spokesperson for the ADA. |

| Additionally, Newgent is currently a recreational culinary instructor at The Institute of Culinary Education and corporate wellness provider for Coach, Inc. She wrote A Parent’s Guide to Healthy Eating and Physical Activity (Preventive Medicine Institute/Strang Cancer Prevention Center, 2005) and was the recipe developer for The Whole Grain Diet Miracle (DK Publishing, 2006). |

| Newgent earned her B.S. in Allied Health Professions from The Ohio State University and her Certificate in Professional Cookery from Kendall College. She’s a professional member of IACP, ADA, FCP, Slow Food USA, Vegetarian Nutrition DPG, Hunger and Environmental Nutrition DPG, and Green Restaurant Association. Newgent resides in New York City. |
